Absolute perfection for best yarns
HERO Textil AG: Successfully dared the German textile industry with innovative ideas.
Alone the figures are impressive: By now the team of HERO Textil - consists of 20 team members - produced about 1.2 million arm cuffs, 3.3 million braces, 112 000 meters of elastic textiles, used 110 tones yarn for the production and delivered to more than 260 customers in 25 countries annually.
A few days ago when founder Hubert Ulrich looked back on a three century company history, he was able to do this unwound and satisfied.
Satisfied because his strategy of "little steps" worked out and he was able to set the basis that the company can be successfully even in difficult times. Unwound because he knows his life´s work in good hands. "What is left over of the German textile industry?" he asked almost provocative. An answer could be: HERO Textil AG.
If you ask the former sales manager of AGA-Garn GmbH for the reasons, he has immediately a simple as well as convincing answer: "You have to be creative and to be able to offer something interesting to your customers." In Hubert Ulrich´s opinion, who celebrated his 75th birthday a few days ago, quality and reliability are the prerequisites that the highly specialized manufacturer of technical textiles with a domestic located production on 1200 square meters with 150 machines can manufacture internationally and competitively.
The senior boss retired nine years ago from the operative business. Since that time his sons Juergen (purchasing, production and distribution) and Christoph (Marketing, Sales) have leaded the family business. The basic direction changed hardly. Juergen Ulrich:" On the one hand we are offering the complete spectrum from manufacturing over finishing till storing. On the other hand the customer benefits from a flexibility which he will find hardly in this style."
Even small orders will be delivered in 24 hours. But the elastic textiles, braces, cuffs, collars or coverings which are mainly used in work wear, heat protection clothing, clean room clothing and medical clothing won´t reach the sales when the certificated manufacturer wouldn´t insist on absolutely high quality through the whole value chain. "Made by HERO" is a guarantee for color and shape fastness which has its own price. "We even reject orders if the margin is not conform to our quality", said Christoph Ulrich.
Hero´s leadership is also always on the search of new market niches to avoid the competitive pressure. The current example is an elastic and knitting belt for the work wear and outdoor clothing industry which can be washed together with the trousers. First key customers took the belt for their collections. The old principle is valid: "You have really to offer something to the customer."

Best quality, clear extension
Niche has been found: The family business HERO has asserted on an international textile market for 30 years/ anniversary celebration with invited guests
Niche products, steady extension in clear steps, constant quality, reliability and short delivery times made HERO Textil AG in 30 years to what they are now: a healthy family business with 25 employees which know how to assert on a difficult international market.
"If I had bet on fashionable products we would have been disappeared like other German manufacturers from the market long time ago", said company founder Hubert Ulrich on Friday at the anniversary celebration of the HERO Textil AG in front of the invited guests, among them also mayor of Crailsheim Rudolf Michl. From the beginning on HERO has been specialized on the supply of high-quality textiles for the work wear industry. The product range consists of components like braces, elastic zones, waistbands, arm cuffs as well as collars in different models for the work wear industry.
Further they produce textiles for the automobile industry like covers for steeling wheels and water and oil resistant seat covers.
1.13 million arm cuffs, 3.3 million braces and approx. 122 000 meter of elastic textiles are produced annually among other things. This makes HERO Textil AG to the market leader in their segment. Moreover they deliver to 260 customers in 25 countries.
A lot of the product innovations which are significant for the quality by HERO had been developed by senior boss and textile technician Hubert Ulrich. Their manufacturing is still in Crailsheim. Finishing which is composed of thermally fixation and treating for the shape fastness take also place in their own production.
Hubert Ulrich handed over his business to his sons in 2001 who share the business management. Whereas Juergen Ulrich is responsible for purchasing, disposition and manufacturing, Christoph Ulrich is responsible for marketing and sales.
The junior bosses also keep at their father´s philosophy: They develop their business in steady and little steps. "We have been pleased about a great increase in turnover and profit in recent years", said Juergen Ulrich at the anniversary celebration.
